We are all about having fun while learning how to catch New Zealands great fish on lures using light gear. This is not just a job for us but a way of life and we are passionate about what we do!
At Snap Fishing Ventures (SFV), we specialise in all types of jigging for Snapper, Kingfish, John Dory, Gurnard, Kahawai, Trevally... (especially love to slow jig for big snapper).
We go wide on very comfortable and safe high-speed luxury charter boats. We search for workups (Dolphins and whales and birds working the bait) and areas we know hold good fish.
SFV provide all the latest fishing gear for jigging (Rods, reels and lures etc.) and will show you how to rig them and fish them for success. SFV are involved in testing and refining lures for the market (we write articles for NZ Fishing News on our findings). We hope to pass these findings on to our clients and hopefully catch them a fish of a life time!
WHAT TO EXPECT AND WHAT TO BRING
We will meet at marina/boat at around 7am for 7.15am departure and back at around 3.30pm (we can change these times to suit).
- Sea sickness pills if you need them (Sea Legs are good). Good to take them the night before as well as in the morning.

We supply all the latest high-quality rods and reels and all lures (Slow Jigs, mechanical jigs etc) required for the day.*Clients are liable for any damage or loss of our equipment due to misuse or carelessness (i.e. dropping over side, high sticking, leaving in rod holder unattended, not waiting for the net and pulling big fish into the boat with the rod etc).
You are also welcome to bring your favourite jigging rod if you like and I will show you how to set it up!
